What game was this? (2000's shareware)

There was a game when I was a younger lad where it had the same sort of premise of having the little pad at the bottom of the screen and had to break the bricks at the top. I think your pad was made out of electric. There were different power ups to alter the size of the pad as well as things like the ball being able to stick to the pad to be reshot.

Could be wrong but I think it was a "metal" esque sort of presentation?

Any ideas? I seem to remember it having a weird name, moderately long.

Appreciate it. :D

A breakout clone?

Ricochet?

None of those seem to ring a bell?

Got daitakana in my mind for some reason. Obviously that's not it, :p but possibly the name is similar?

haha maybe, I'll have a look later.

IIRC, it was on a PC gamer disc from maybe '98 or a year or two later?

Sorry mate, being monging it recently. :D

To keep things up to date, could you please send me details of what I need to do, my memory is terrible. :o

sorry again.

No worries, if you could send the money over today though it would be greatly appreciated. :)

I've sent you my payment details so just need your address and they'll be in the post to you tomorrow.

Is it the one with the gangster paradise sound sample for one of the upgrades? can't remember the name but I do remember the game I think your talking about.

Wasn't Fireball II was it?

It will inevitably be Arkanoid or an Arkanoid clone.

I know which game you are talking about as I played it a heck of a lot around that era but I can't remember the name either :/ Wonder if I can find it on any of my old floppies

EDIT: 90% certain the game I used to play was DX Ball:
