What game was this.... ?

It came out around 2000-2002 - A PC game.

It was a sort of futuristic Sim-city-like - turn based battle game.

Can't for the life of me remember what it was called - but I remember you had to basically build fortresses on terraformed land and fight alien advances during turn based attacks.

Any Ideas ?

No...don't think so.

All I can remember was the playing area was layed out in a diagonal grid, and when it was you turn, your tanks would lob granades over the aliens walls. The grapics were great for then, and the sound was top notch too.

Very little thinking was involved in it... so it wasn't too much of a strategic thinking RPG.
