Well I have a new machine that I,ve just built and I feel its under resourced on the games front and I would appreciate your views on the best FPS with internet capability as well as solo play.

Just multiplayer BF2
Single HL2/FEAR/Farcry (HL2 also has all the decent online bits too)

STALKER for single player... apparently it is good. Awaiting my copy now.

Half Life 2 GOTY Edition (Game of the Year Edition)
includes Counter Strike Source, Half Life 1: Source, Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Deathmatch.

..and of course all those FREE amazing mods for Half Life (including some great online multiplayer ones Hidden Source, Dystopia etc)

IMO great value for money game
