I have some games, but I've tended to neglect my collection lately as I've not had the GPU to justify it. Now I think it's time I got the games worth having, but I'm not even sure what the ones to have are...

In the collection:
XBOX 360 (just to avoid duplication, if I have it on xbox, no point having it for PC)
- Fifa 07,
- Battlestations Midway*
- CoD 2+3
- Project Gotham Racing 3
- GTA4+
- Halo 1-3
- Bioshock+
- Burnout Revenge
- Guitar Hero 2+3
- Army of 2

And on PC
- Football manager 2009
- Half life 2 (& all the bits and bobs*)
- CS source, 1.6 and condition zero
- Garrys Mod+
- Portal*
- Team Fortress 2*

Anything with a * is unplayed, + is barely played/recent :-)
Oh - also CoD4 for my girlfriends DS, but that doesn't count xD

So, what are the must-haves - apart from left4dead, because it looks crap.

Left 4 Dead looks crap ?! Have you even tried it - with a few OcUK people on your side in campaign mode or playing with / against them in versus mode it's one of the best games around!

Do try TF2 - Valve have fixed (partially) the achivements issues they introduced with the Sniper vs Spy update and the game is a whole heck of a lot of fun now :D

I enjoyed Battlestation Midway for PC.....busy playing Battlestations Pacific atm as it something different and interesting.

To be honest i'm not that impressed with L4D, I find it very repetitive and tedious. I guess it just doesn't capture me like other games.

TheOtherOption - it just doesn't appeal to me, as Lydzor said, it just doesn't capture my imagination at all. I've had a quick blast through one of the levels, and it just seemed pointless and I wasn't a fan.

Oxide - I hadn't noticed there was another Battlestations out, is it better on PC than xbox?

Bigdave - some great suggestions, Empire: Total War looks like my sort of game completely, what are the medievil games like? My biggest criticism of the Total War series was that it seemed the opening move in any battle was too important. One bad decision and you're basically pwnt - Are the Medievil and Empire games a little better in this respect? Also, is cavalry any better against infantry. And I have theme hospital =D

Hoax - Now on my hitlist, cheers

Empire is still to buggy for my liking and the campaign element of the game is so unwieldy, you really have to comit to it. I'm a big fan of Rome & MII: Total War games though and am planning on installing the LOTR mod for MII very soon. As far as the first move is concerned - I find positioning of your troops and sticking to your strategy is the most important thing, get that right and it doesn't matter too much about the first move as long as it's not pointlessly suicidal...

One game I fancied (but didn't have a console) was Star Wars the Force unleashed. I also always preferred PES to Fifa.

Oblivion's a great game too.
