Couldn't find a thread like this, interesting question as so many people started with different things and sometimes it defined what they play today. For me for my first time was on my grandads windows 95 pc with doom and heretic while he went to sleep after his pub booze on a Sunday :p

In 2004 I got my first pc bought for me, I played nothing but doom 3 and cnc tiberian sun.

As a result I love games like wolfenstein, farcry, metro

I did like cnc till they ruined it with 4

Shocked myself though as out of all the games in the universe I'm most looking forward to star citizen

Bout you?

I don't really game on PC any more but the first proper game I played was Doom. Quake 2 is what really got me into PC gaming though. The good ole' 56k days.

Redline Racer, Jazzjack Rabbit 2 and G-Police were the first PC games I played that got me in to PC gaming however it was Carmageddon II and SiN which kept me here.

I think it was the original Quake / Unreal Tournament, back when I was 15 or something and doing work experience, we used to stop back after work and play multiplayer.
I built my first PC when I was 16, and used to play games on that all the time, as the years went by it got more and more out of date and then when the PS3 first came out I stopped playing on the PC and then moved to the PS3. Then about 2 years ago when my PS3 broke, I started using a 2nd hand PC my mate gave me, I got the bug again and decided very shortly afterwards to build a new gaming PC. The rest they say is history :D

warcraft , that game cost me over 1k to play it :) went into currys and brought a AST 486 50Mhz 4Meg Ram . ;)

can anyone remmeber the really cack games on ps1 like jumping flash, road rash or nightmare creatures haha. As iconic and nostalgic as they were, they drove my interest towards pc gaming.

Bit of a mish-mash, really...

I started out with a whole host of titles on the Spectrum, such as Bomb Jack, Booty, River Raid, Frogger, Horace, Driller, LotR... lots of Activision goodness, along with the arcade stuff like Star Wars, and the usual movie tie-ins (Top Gun, Predator, BttF).
Annoyingly, I could never get Elite to complete loading. It always crapped out a few minutes before the end of the tape!!

When PCs became what we now know as PCs with the 286/386/486 type stuff, I played here and there on things like Doom, Star Trek, early Tom Raiders, Drakan and so on.
I got heavily into the Thief series and played Baldurs gate a few times.

Many years later I finally bought my own machine, an Acer Netbook and ran Freelancer on that. This was the first time I'd been really wowed by game graphics.
I followed that with Tomb Raider Aniversary onward and then Assassins Creed. Dragon Age followed and the pinacle so far has probably been the Mass Effect series.

I played a lot of Play Station when I was younger but a friend introduced me to my first PC game, The Korean MMO Ragnarok Online. my whole school group ended up playing it.

Wolfenstien 3D & Flight Simulator 5.0 for general PC Gaming

then CS Mod for Half life got me into online gaming

For some reason, MMO's, and I hate them now haha.
There was something about seeing Warcraft and expecting it to be huge back when I was a teenager, but when I tried the trial, I got bored of it in a day!
Now I'm more in to RPG's and FPS/TPS.
