Now the big hitters have seemingly shown their hands, what games you looking forward to getting this year?
And how many will be day 1 purchases?

For me Borderlands the pre-sequel, lego Batman 3, valiant hearts the great war and evolve (hopefully it makes it this year) are day 1 purchases for me
Like the look of far cry 4 but unsure whether that will be out this year...

I'll include console games I'll be picking up on release day;

  • Grand Theft Auto V - PC
  • Grand Theft Auto V - PlayStation 4
  • Uncharted 4 - PlayStation 4
  • Little Big Planet 3 - PlayStation 4
  • Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain - PlayStation 4
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider - PlayStation 4
  • The Sims 4 - PC
  • FIFA 15 - PlayStation 4

I'll no doubt pick up others, The Division (PlayStation 4 / PC) looks very promising, as does the new Rainbow Six.

Very tempted to pick up a WiiU, especially given how good Zelda and Mario Kart 8 look.

I'll be getting The Witcher 3 and before I got Watch Dogs I was definitely going to get Far Cry 4 and AC: Unity but now I am not so sure - I don't want to give my money to developers who aren't concerned with PC optimisations at all, they haven't been much concerned in the past as performance in FC3 and ACIV could've been better but Watch Dogs has taken it too far now and I don't know if I am willing to continue with Ubisoft's nonsense.

The only games which actually looked any good to me were
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege
  • Tom Clancy's The Division

These looks amazing!!!

Grand Theft Auto V - PC

Grand Theft Auto V - PlayStation 4

Not to sound like an idiot and no insult intended

If these are released on the same day, I assume you can link your progress across both platforms so you can play either on the PC or PS4?

If you can't, why would you buy both? Unless there is some other benefit I'm not aware of? :D I'm not a diehard GTA fan (not since the original), so maybe I just don't get it.

Witcher 3 - Pre-Ordered from GOG already
GTA V - PC
The Division - maybe, don't really trust Ubisoft to follow through and make this game all that it could be.

Grim Fandango :) The emulated version has always run badly for me and I can't wait to play it again

Also probably reached the tipping point in terms of decent games on the system so time to get a Wii U

GTA V on PC perhaps, it looks quite good

Was quite impressed by the new Assassin's Creed as well, co-op if done right could work well and might be just the sort of originality the series needs. Of course knowing Ubi the assassin's will now have a special "power stone" about the size of a smartphone which can use magic to trigger things to fall over and explode and such as you're running away from pursuers

Admittedly i'm still going through it all but so far:

Doom 4
Arkham Knight
GTA V - Dependant on port quality and price
FIFA 15

Also really want a Wii U for MK8 and Mario Maker.

Assassin's Creed Unity tempts me but i've not enjoyed one since AC2 so meh.

Having just completed the Witcher 2 last night, Witcher 3 has now been pre-ordered.

The Division has been on my "OMG PREORDER!" list since the first gameplay trailer, but given the huge disappointment of Watchdogs, I think I'm going to wait until release for that, likewise with Farcry 4.
