got a new agp 7600GT XXX XFX sat at home waiting for me

what games out there are visualy stunning? ive been playing wow for so long i dont really know much about other games

Half Life 2 has its great moments although it can feel abit blocky as in buildings and obejects some times have square edges which are so perfect it just does'nt seem right you should be able to max out the settings with no problem.

Oblivion is great as you dont get the same feeling of blockyness (is that a real word? hehe) as with HL2 but it is very demanding to get best settings and full effect.

Quake 4 is pretty nice in places also prey and Doom 3 as each game has some great atmospheric areas but quake 4 just felt repeative gameplay wise, i enjoyed doom 3 as i did jump a few times but prey was the best for me gameplay wise as it felt a lot like duke nukem.

Rainbow 6 Vegas is out December 1st for PC i beleive so that should be pretty good as its on the Unreal 3 engine.

Flying above the wispy clouds on a moonlit night in a private jet, watching the lights of a mountain-top hotel pass below. Horizon glows, sky warms and the sun slowly rises above the horizon as you approach your destination.

Dip past the clouds and follow the coast as huge islands sprawl below, nose dive to 100m and bail out... Land next to a friendly guerilla, pick up some 'nades and head into the village for business.

Just Cause. Occasionally gave me fantastic fuzzy glows of mmmm, pretty. Counterbalanced by many naff issues the game has.

Flight Sim X demo. Land a seaplane on some water and watch the waves roll in :)

Crank up the detail on the plane and the sea, make nice clouds, ditch some of the terrain stuff. Can quite happily sit there bobbing away :D

thanks guys i got some ideas now :) i got HL2 but i never played it (for CS) so i can install that

my quick list of ideas is
Quake 4
Unreal Tournament origional + 2004 (got both)
Serious Sam 2 (loved nr 1)
Prey
Doom

im sure some of these will be pretty awsome thanks for the input lads :)

is there a reason no one has mentioned Far Cry yet?
Possibly the shiniest game ever to grace the PC. I think HL2 looks better, but if you want to go WOW then you can't beat Far Cry.

Yep agree with you there it is good looking in a lot of places, it does'nt give that wow factor continously like that others did as a lot of the outdoor area's seemed abit dull to me and felt empty in a lot of places.

Would definately recommend tho.

If its just pure eye candy your after why not download some of the demonstration software Nvidia / ATI do for there cards.

http://ati.amd.com/products/workstation/demos.html

Not sure if you will be able to run the ATI's ones trouble free but its worth a try if you love eye candy like me :D

Does anyone know why Nvida and ATI have stoped doing there hardware demonstrations like they used to, i loved playing around with those things when i got new hardware, I would love to see one for the 8800 GTX hehe would have to be a video of the actualy demonstration tho as i've not got a 8800 GTX and not planning on getting one until they are cheaper :D

Oblivion
FEAR

Call of Duty 2, idk where anyone can say it doesn't look that great, looks amazing on max settings.

GRAW has a unique good graphic design.

I thought BF2 was quite impressive, every now and again all the angles will match up right and it just looks real basically  Soon people will be looking back and saying its junk I guess, roll on crysis :)

Just finished Prey and I must say it was very pretty indeed with some rather unusual effects thrown in.

:)
