I've decided to get an xbox 360 for christmas, what games would you reccomend considering I haven't owned the original xbox either? Please no sports or racing games, or ones that can be bought on the pc. :p

CoD 4, Assasins Creed, Stranglehold, Bioshock, Gears of War

EDIT: Bah, not ones on the PC....

Naruto? If its your cup of tea, Halo 3?

Avoid Halo 3, Bioshock and Assassins Creed (all highly over rated and there are loads of under rated games you will have missed not being a previous owner)

Your criteria has knocked off a lot of obvious suggestions!! Barring games that are not on PC, sports or racing games, suddenly makes me think there is not as much variety for someone like yourself on the 360!!

Off the top of my head good games on 360 that fall into your criteria is Saints Row, Dead Rising, Marvel Ultimate Alliance. None of them are new, but i would say they were all very good experiences about a year ago.

Can't you list a genre you like, rather than list ones you want to exclude!!

I like pretty much any genre apart from those 2, rpg, fps, platformers etc

OK, well for FPS I think all are available on PC apart from Halo 3. RPG wise I think there is Blue Dragon and Lost Odessy that haven't made their way to the PC (yet?)

Platformer wise I draw a blank, There is a game called Kameo which was released with the 360, I can't think of anything else on the 360 that you would class as a platformer really (although I am sure thee is some lesser known titles around that have passed me by).

I know you said no Sports games but Rockstar Table Tennis is amazing and not something that really feels like a sports game.

Kind of disappointed with Halo 3 having been a PC only gamer for years. It seems shallow, clunky, not that pretty and online is all done by matchmaking which I find irritating.

Gotta agree with you on this RP. NEVER played this (I too hate sports games), but Psymonkee introduced me to it last weekend and I thought it was fantastic. You're 100% right, it just doesn't feel like a sports game.

Leaves you a lot of games to pick then :p

Sounds like a 360 would not be good for you to be honest

It's the PC thing that kills the choice. I did not realise till he mentioned it how many 360 games are on PC (just by going through my own list of owned games and older games).

Hopefully the simplified Live element of the 360 compared to PC games may sway him for one or two titles.

AND AGAIN Dead Rising. Fairly uniqueish experience.

It's purely down to cost really, pc games are half the price of 360 ones.

Actually I just thought:

XBLA!!

Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting. Can't get an online version on the PC that is as good as this. Luminees Live (expensive but addictive game).
