Im using a clevo p950re, 4k IPS, i7 6700HQ, 32gb ddr4 HyperX, m.2 nvme 1tb and 2x 480 v300's for storage only a gtx970m 6gb for the gpu but it does just fine.

I lug it into London every day and it was looking beaten up and the casing was cracked in places but today I put it in an all new case, new fans, new heat sinks, all new case parts and a new backlit keyboard. It's once again silent, looks bran new and is ready for another year :) Best part of all being a clevo meant that spares were cheap and easy to get hold of, £130 for all the parts above is great value.

I'm still using my old Samsung 700G7C - the "GTX675m" in it is more like a 2GB desktop 560ti but it does OK for the odd gaming when I can't use my main PC. The 3610QM and 16GB of RAM still does pretty well and it has a 120Hz display.

I just bought a Alienware 17 r4 with a 1070 GPU and 1440 screen and it’s stunning to say the least , it runs most games at ultra settings no problem , it does get noisy though ..

Nice spec. How well does it bench? I'm always intrigued how my slim AORUS compares to a similar spec from different manufacturers. Have you got a firestrike score for it?

My laptop is the AORUS X5V6 - I7-6820HK @ 4.3Ghz, GTX 1070 @ +140 on core, 16GB DDR4 RAM, RAID 0 500GB Samsung 960 EVO x 2, 120Hz 1080.

I'm using a msi gt73 7rf titan pro. It's a cracking laptop. Super performance and great cooling. I can't fault it at all. I've had it since June and it's played everything I've thrown at it.

Just an idea, maybe a 3dmark Firestrike league for gaming laptops in the first post?

Here's mine - 15,919 - I7-6820HK @ 4.1Ghz with a GTX 1070 +150 on core and +300 on memory.

Mine is an MSI GE62 2QD. i7-4720HQ, 16GB RAM, 128GD M.2, 1TB HDD, GTX960M, 1080p. It plays games pretty well. Although it's not all that often I game on it, I just like having a powerful machine for general use.

When i first bought my msi laptop I didn't realise how.many different model versions you could get. Mine is a i7-7820hk @4.0ghz with 32gb ram. 512gb ssd with a 1tb hdd and a gtx1080 with a gsync panel 120hz. Like I said before it's been a perfect desktop replacement. Only downside is the battery. If I run on the on-board gpu I get 3 hours maybe but about an hour and a half on the gtx1080.

I don't like how Windows 10 just updates and changes things or adds new features I may not even want. I didn't want the creators update or what ever it was called. I was actually tempted to restore laptop and then disable any future updates.

gigabyte aero 15x, its nice

That's the one with the 1070 Max-Q card, right?

How does it hold playing some of the latest games at max, or close to max, settings? Have you tried AC: Origins, or Middle Earth Shadow of War or anything else that's new and graphically demanding? I'm really interested in buying one myself and am wondering how it holds up.

I wish Apple would do a laptop with a decent GPU. I am starting to detest Windows 10 as time goes on now. It's doing things that are annoying me.

Same here. I find Windows 10 cumbersome and awkward to use. I only have a Windows 10 laptop purely and only for gaming and never use it for anything else. I do everything else on a MacBook 13. Maybe you guys could get a MacBook Air or regular MacBook 12 to go alongside your Windows 10 machines and do all your main stuff on that?

Do most of you game exclusively on a laptop rather than desktop?
I have an Asus G751 (GT970m). It is a mobile extension of my desktop. Very cool and quiet but chunky.

Been very tempted to move to a laptop full-time though.
I think long-term the desktop has a place for me.

I'e always only ever gamed on a desktop. But recently i wasn't using my desktop for much and it was taking space. I decided to sell and splash out on a high end laptop. I'm glad I did. It plays everything I throw at it and it doesn't take up the space for main desktop did. Plus it's mobile which is always a plus.

Alienware 17 R3 that got from the outlet over a year ago. It has the 4K screen and 980m. Playing COD WW2 on it recently. Working extremely well with COD, GTA V and Civ VI.

Don’t miss the desktop at all. This is compact, mobile and more than enough power to max out todays games.
