Hi Guys,

My 19" has just died a horrible death. I use to run the Dell 2407W along side it.

Basically I need a new monitor and I was thinking of getting the Dell U2711, and running that with the 2407W.

I currently have a GTX 275, presumably that cant run them both. So what GFX would you recommend? Dont really do much gaming, with the exception of Eve and Starcraft 2.

I do use Photoshop, and Video Editing here and there.

Thanks :)

Well i have the same 27" and a very similar 24". I have two gtx 580 but i got them mainly for bf3. As you dont list that game just one would surfice i imagine easily. Or even a 6950 would do the job well

Thanks for the replies, I dont have a budget tbh, just dont want to spend money needlessly :)

Its physically capable of it yes, and those games arent particularly demanding so you may be OK, I wouldnt rush into buying a new card you may not need

Doesnt the U2711 need a dual DVI or something? I thought that would mean I would need to use both the outputs for the one monitor, meaning I dont have one for the 2407.

Or am I being a noob??

Yep, DVI dual is just a different cable and is standard among higher end systems.

*patiently waits for surveyor to post pi of different DVIs*

:D

I'm having a busy night on the forum.

So many problems, so little time.

A dual link cable/connector has more connections for greater bandwidth.

Here you go for an image of the different types:

The Dell U2711 will come supplied with a dual link DVI-D cable.

Both DVI connectors on the GTX 275 are dual link so there's no problem running the Dell U2711 from one.
