Greetings and salutations

As the title states, what kind of glue is safe to use on plastic for e.g. a plastic bit broke off on my AC connector on my MB that the PSU plugs into, it all looks quite simple to fix a bit of glue a bit of soldering but I was wondering if it is safe to use "Superglue" to glue the plastic bits together without causing erosion or damage to the board or plastic bits.

Thank you in advance

Can you not solder it? If you must use glue then I would try a small drop from a hot glue gun but I would solder it myself ;)

Sadly the part I need to have sturdy is plastic on plastic so no soldering will just do more damage :P

At the moment I have 3 options

1. Throw the laptop in the bin as I am unable to charge it
2. Glue the plastic in place so the DC/AC adapter can plug into it as the middle pin is the bit that has broken off
3. Try and order a very specific part which I cant see being available easily and most likely pay through my nose :P

At the end of the day I am going to go with option 2. But I thought id ask the great minds of OCUK for advice first ;)

Oh it’s a MSI gx700 Extreme (well as in its hay day at least) :P

Picture. Depending on the damage, either fix the connector, or strip the laptop down and replace the DC socket - they're available all over the place, even the proprietary ones. Somewhere like Farnell or RS Electronics will supply most things (don't forget you could always butcher the PSU too to make the plug and socket match).
