What good free on line game for me and a mate

Hi, me and a mate ( we live 200 miles apart) fancy a decent game on line now and then together.

Just curious what games are out there that we can both play together.

Curious about second life. Our laptops are average run of the mill machines.

Were not bothered if it is shoot up em, driving, whatever.

Also can be free or we do not mind paying a little bit.

Something easy to get into as well

How about the original Borderlands? Should run on fairly low spec hardware and is up to 4 player coop. Not free but super cheap at this point I'd have thought.

Knowing the actual specs of your laptops would help - RAM, GPU, CPU, etc.

Alternatively if you fancy a mmorpg then Aion online is free to play and has kept my interest for a while now

An alternative to all the PvP games is Torchlight 2, I imagine you could both have a blast playing through that together.

It is £14.99 on steam though...
