Same for me. I was a massive Amiga fan, owning an Amiga 1000. In the end it didn't keep pace with PC development and was just too slow compared to the newer PCs that appeared.
BBC Mircro was my first experience with Repton and Elite
The Atar ST (poor mans amiga except it was just as good)
Then moved onto a 286 with Prince Of Persia and early Apogee games (Crystal Caves, Commander Keen, Duke Nukem)
Doom 2 on a 486 and red alert on my p133 and then diablo on my p200mmx and my ati 4mb card.
Anyone remember mdk ? lol
First game i ever bought was fifa 97
But i have to say that quake series is what i played the most and of course counter strike, started playing cs in beta 4, back then the m4 was known as the colt carbine and it had a zoom/scope.

Now, who remembers Quake using open GL with a 3dfx card, or was it glide? I just remember Quake using 3D cards for the first time and was floored by the graphics and the speed... Wow such a great time..!! Until Quake II was released.
My friends uncle had a voodoo card because he owned a computer shop, he also had altec lansing speakers. We played diablo until like 4am on the weekends back in 1997.
age of empires on my cousins heap o junk PC, then her mum got a shiny new awesome pc (at the time) with freelancer, and from there onwards my life has spiraled down hill into the dark sunless screen lit madness it is now
Wouldnt change it for anything..... kinda want to play freelancer now
For me it all started with an Atari 64XE that I barely remember bought by my Dad for my Brother and I one Christmas, loading games via tape at that age was interesting.
My first proper PC was a 486 Packard Bell that I had my first taste of PC gaming with Day Of The Tentacle and Doom and it went on from there!
