What GPS receiver?

Just get something which uses the Sirfstar III chipset, as used in the Tomtom One and latest 510/710/910 models. This is a 20-channel receiver which will hold onto a signal like you wouldn't believe. Don't confuse it with the older Sirfstar II as used in the original Tomtom units.

I got an i-Geo Pro (Sirf 3 Chipset) for £45 of a guy local to me.

Works fine for my needs, I can just chuck it in the Glovebox and go. Even gets a strong signal in the house.

Get married....i can guarentee to get all the directions ill ever ever want, but only after ive taken a different route.

Cant turn the damn thing off either, so not without its problems, that option.

I've got an el cheapo generic one off ebay, it runs on a nokia battery and lasts for ages. it works perfectly too with tomtom on my spv

Globalsat BT338 - quick start times, never misses a beat.

You will find more info on GPS systems at the Pocket GPS forums HERE

That's what I've got, it's a great little unit and battery lasts ages so it's great for while you're on holiday and looking for a restaurant/bar/attraction.

It may not be one of the cheapest (it's not exactly expensive though) but was the first BT one out with the Sirfstar III chipset in it, and is therefore, still considered to be one of the best.

Also takes Nokia batteries ..

Holux gpslim 236 based on sirf star III, dont get anything lesss than the III...

I've just bought one of these, I was going to get the Globalsat one (better battery life) but went for the Holux one as it uses the same charger as my phone, and is also smaller.
