What GPU Prices would we class as acceptable/reasonable and the norm?

Was just having a convo with a mate around the joke that is the 6500XT and it got us thinking about if we lived in a normal world, what would be the price structure (and I've only done AMD here as we're both AMD people) and we came up with something we thought was reasonable for the "common man" but also being realistic...

6500XT = £119,
6600XT = £199,
6700XT = £279,
6800XT = £369,
6900XT = £449.

Obviously everyone has their own opinions, but basiing this on console prices, the performance they offer and versitility against the PC which when you now add up costs a fortune to build...

What would people think was "acceptable" pricing on the above?

Obviously we all want everything as cheap as possible and we'd all love a 6900XT for £99 but being realistic... and with everything out of control nowadays... what do we now think is reasonable?

This then gives the absolute starter a way in, then graduating upto the top cards without being for the only the rich even on the top cards? T

The QUESTION WOULD BE... would people generally be HAPPY with the above pricing based on their current performance for that GPU?

I'd probably bump it up a little but and throw in a few more cards in the middle. I also think the 6500xt should actually be the 6500.
So 6500 (current xt) at £100
Then 6500xt, with more vram and maybe an encoder and more pcie lanes at £150
6600 £200
6600xt £250
6700 £325 (cut down 6700xt maybe less vram)
6700xt £375
6800 £450
6800xt £500
6900xt £650 (because halo products are always bad value)

I think I'd be pretty happy with this. Though even this feels like wishful thinking

There's absolutely no chance a halo product in the lineup will be seen below a £1000 in the future, even if mining implodes.

I can appreciate you wanting to go back in time 12-15 years before nasty inflation and pound/dollar depreciation happened.

But do you also want to go back to a time when AMD employed 2 programmers and half a dozen chimps to do their drivers? And add some extra dosh to pay for the extended warranty. Cards back then used to break when you sneezed. Also better get some ear defenders to use alongside those quality last decade coolers.

Personally don't care what the halo cards cost - if you want/need the best then expect to pay for it. But the line up below that is another matter.

Even in this day and age I don't think the x8 class products should be above £500, maybe £600 for something a bit special top tier OC models, etc. anything x6 class and below up to £250 with the x7 class models sitting in between.

£470 for the 3070FE was pushing it - with a bit more VRAM maybe more acceptable - £800+ is just insane but sadly people will pay it even though they are essentially being bent over.

Availability at MSRP would be a nice start!

But beyond that:
6500 under £100
6500 XT about £140
6600 about £200
6600 XT about £250
6700 XT about £340
6800 about £400
6800 XT about £475
6900 XT less than the sky

Some pretty big gaps in that but AMD have been bad at filling them for years now. That used to be a good thing as they had less segmentation, but also a bad thing like their lack of binning and releasing things like 7950's at 1.25V.

The chips are the chips they have, so cannot see them being able to release a 6500 XT with more encoders or decoders etc., or even easily make 8GB 6700. This makes Navi 24 even more puzzling as it wasn't designed to release in today's crazy market but in a more competitive market where it would have been cut down too much.
