Hey everyone,

I'm sending back my EVGA GTX 670 for a refund, I had a minor issue but they are refunding the full £300. What card is better for about the same money?

I'm considering the GTX 770, but which model? I was thinking the MSI with red on it.. Any suggestions?? :)

I've got about £300-£350 to spend.

I'll leave the Nvidia suggestions to others... but if you don't mind AMD cards then this HIS 7970 Ice-Q is currently on offer and is a steal at £310. Also comes with free games which you can keep or if you sell you can take another £30 off that bringing the price down to £280.

Those HIS cards don't have any trouble clocking to 1200 on the core and beyond and once you hit that speed any other similarly priced card is going to have a hard job keeping up with it.

Hi Twera,

If you are looking to the top cards, either of these will do nicely. The VTX card gets a decent write up but I don't know too much about it. You get a good game bundle with the 7970 and you get PhysX (in games that use it) with Nvidia, so a plus for either side.

or if you want to save a few quid,

YOUR BASKET
1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) £249.95
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with a free copy of 3DMark advanced edition £239.99
Total : £501.34 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Both of these cards perform within 5% of the bigger brothers but come in a fair bit cheaper. Personally, I would wait it out to see what the 760 brings, as from early bench results, it performs slightly faster than the 670 but price would be the deciding factor. It is supposed to be released tomorrow but nothing is official on that.

Hope that helps :)

Appreciate the help. I think I'll be going with the GB card 770. I just wish the reference design was available but also a good cooler, which it's not :P

The Gigabyte WF is a nice and quiet card, so handy for those late evening chilled games :) The Titan cooler is good as well but I still feel the after market coolers do a better job :)
