what gpu to go for

hi all i'm after 2 x gpu for my rig my budget is £700 to £800 for both i will be using dual monitors but am unsure which ones would be best with the budget i have

i7 3770k
16g gt dominates
asrock extreme 6 z77
ax1200 psu
160g ssd
h100 cpu cooler
 
Will those non-blower coolers be okay in Crossfire/SLI? a few people have reported high temps on the first card because of heat lingering inside the case.
 
2 gtx 460's. they are cheap and max all games out at 1920 x 1080. depends was res your gaming at

What's the point with 1GB of VRAM? You aren't maxing BF3 with 1GB of VRAM to name but one game. There are a couple more.

Indeed. Unless you have good case airflow, two of these types of coolers are problematic. Because card 1 and card 2 dump heat inside the case which then rises into card 1's air intake area meaning you're 'cooling' your card 1 with hot air.

I don't know what the reference coolers are like for 7970's although I've read they're loud. If you don't have sufficient case cooling then two exhaust cards are your best bet.
