If it's an AMD 4000+ single core, I don't see much point in putting something too fast in there. One 5770 would be overkill, actually, but at least it will be future proofed then...
Have you overclocked your processor? That would really help in games
Agree with Mame, no point spending loads on a graphics card that will be bottlenecked by your CPU even if in theory you could put pretty much any card in that motherboard.
Hmmm I'm sorta looking at extending my system (Asus a8n sli deluxe, FX-55, sli 7800 GTX). My fans are all due for replacement and the PSU needs replacing along with my DVD writer. I was going to chuck in a Corsair 850w PSU, replace the fans, replace the DVD writer and I have a 5850 spare so was going to throw that in it. I know it's overkill for the system but it is spare. The FX-55 will be the bottleneck then wont it? What if I replaced it? and what would/could I replace it with?. Would I have to re-install windows after?
This is the family computer as well, not my gaming pc ...
