Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16 (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-118-AS)

Ordered from OcUK many years ago just wondering what best card I could put on it, has to have an HDMI out.

It has a AMD 4000+ in it also.

Thanks

I used to have that board, was a good'n

I used to run SLI'd 8600 but like james said, you can put any PCIe graphics card you like in it, might want to say what PSU you have with it though.

Aaa cool thank you, didn't know if I could put say a DX 11 card in there or not.

It has a 550w PSU I believe.

If it's an AMD 4000+ single core, I don't see much point in putting something too fast in there. One 5770 would be overkill, actually, but at least it will be future proofed then...

Have you overclocked your processor? That would really help in games :)

GT 240. It's cheap and has a HDMI port. There's no point spending any more than that with a single-core CPU.

Agree with Mame, no point spending loads on a graphics card that will be bottlenecked by your CPU even if in theory you could put pretty much any card in that motherboard.

Hmmm I'm sorta looking at extending my system (Asus a8n sli deluxe, FX-55, sli 7800 GTX). My fans are all due for replacement and the PSU needs replacing along with my DVD writer. I was going to chuck in a Corsair 850w PSU, replace the fans, replace the DVD writer and I have a 5850 spare so was going to throw that in it. I know it's overkill for the system but it is spare. The FX-55 will be the bottleneck then wont it? What if I replaced it? and what would/could I replace it with?. Would I have to re-install windows after?
This is the family computer as well, not my gaming pc ... ;)
