Currently. R9 270x 4GB. Size is a major issue, being a mini itx boy.

Unlike my AMD/Intel mental issues, I've never had the same brand fanboy problems with GPU's. I do with manufacturers though. Sapphire all the way these days, which does limit my choice somewhat.

GPU history post 2001: Geforce 3 ti 500, Geforce 4 ti 4200, 9600pro, x800pro (bios modded, much love), 4850, 5770, 6870, 6850, 7850, r9 270x. Whatever the colour, it's always mid range or lower... :o

Interesting to see people upgrading multiple times within a single generation. Selling on cards while the 2nd hand value is still reasonable? Or just an upgrade itch that must be scratched :p

I had two rigs for quite a while, and more often than not had one Nvidia card and an AMD card. Plus I liked tinkering with new cards, and did not loose much from selling them on.

The HD5850 1GB I had was my favourite card of all. I picked it up cheaply,it overclocked massively and I ended up selling it for more than what I paid for!! :)

Can't even remember half the cards I've had any more - incomplete list with some secondary cards in brackets:

ATI Rage II+ 3D w/ Voodoo 1
ATI Rage Fury
Riva TNT2 (AGP) (plus Voodoo 3 2000 PCI)
Elsa Gladiac GF2
Creative 3D Blaster GF3Ti200
Gainward Golden Sample GeForce FX 5900XT (ATI Mobility Radeon 7500)
Gainward Golden Sample 6800 (AGP bridged version with 512MB VRAM and Ultra Extreme core).
Gainward 7950GX2
Various 8800GT (8500GT)
Various GTX260
Various GTX470 (GTX660ti) (GTX260m)
GTX780 (GTX675m)

I'm still running my trusty 5870 that has served me well. Until I actually have time to do more PC gaming it is going to stay put as it performs admirably for my needs :)

Geforce 2 GTS 32MB
Geforce 3
Geforce 4 ti 4600 (gainward thingy)
Geforce 5900
ATI 4870 (pile of crap and crap drivers so lasted a week)
Geforce GTX260 216 edition
Geforce GTX295
Geforce GTX470
Geforce GTX670
ATI R9 280X in Crossfire.

Owned a lot of cards in the past. Only not so good experiences were with AMD cards so these days am Nvidia only until I feel like taking a chance such as if they pull ahead by a margin. I'm willing to pay extra for what I feel are products that are of higher quality and I feel have had more R&D on both hardware and software.

Oh, they were black first :). Green is more friendly but just realised it's also the Nvidia colour. I feel people will tell me to not base my graphics card buying decisions on my own experiences as my own experiences are apparently wrong.

:p

AMD X300SE -I know
6600GT -Ace card, was so happy playing doom 3 on it and getting good fps.
7800GT -Worst card Iv owned ever
X1900XTX -Best card iv owned. Timeless workhorse even now.
X1900XTX/X1900 CROSSFIRE- Hot and Very very loud. Microstuttered: got rid of fairly soon.
8800GTS 320 Great little card and a bargain. Loved that one but memory leaked sometimes during certain games (I think drivers solved the problem).
HD 3870X2- Cant fault it for drivers or performance but got fed up waiting for crossfire compatible driver.
HD 4850- OK but too slow for crysis :P
HD 4870- Noticeable improvement over 4850.
7970- Great card
