Having built a new comp im looking for a nice new graphics card, im thinking of getting a 24" monitor and by the looks of it this looks the best bet
Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor
would everyone agree that this is a good 24" monitor or would i be better off with something else?
On the graphics card side im thinking of a 4870, would a single 4870 be enough to play games on the above monitor at 1920 x 1200 or any 24" monitor that is recommended?

Cheers Dom

Depends on what games you play/want to play and do you mean play all games with everything maxed?

Dell screens are great. I have 2005FPW which must be a good 4 years old now and its still working perfectly

Depends on your budget/ needs really.
Even 3870XT still does fine if you're not AA/AF maniac.
4850 can handle everything up to date without probs with some AA/AF.
4870 will handle everything maxed with AA/AF.
4870x2 will allow you to put custom 24x AA and other extra stuff.

So it all depends on what do you expect ;).

A 4870 wont play Crysis at 1920x1280 maxed out with AA at playable frame rates ;)

Thanks lads :D

so no problems with my choice of Monitor? Im guessing the Dell is not TN panel because of its price, am i right?

Also I read recently about a new firmware version or something, does it make any changes to the monitor? and how do i know if i get a new firmware model?

Cheers Dom

Edit: found it, im having second thoughts about the dell, seems to be loads of input lag :S
