What graphics card next?

Can I resurrect this?

I never did get a 7850, by now I need a whole new system but that's not going to happen.

So... now in 2015 what gfx card should I get for xmad? 7850 still for my system spec?

Thanks

Well you will be badly bottlenecked by that old processor, I think something like a GTX750Ti for £89 is as much as I would spend, and even that would be bottlenecked in some titles (GTA V, BF4 online, etc)

The GTX750TI is slower than an HD7850 AFAIK unless its overclocked. It might be worth looking at one of the cheaper GTX950 or GTX960 models at under £130,as AFAIK Nvidia still does seem to do better on lower end CPUs. However,AMD is releasing a major driver revision soon and there seems to be some overhauls in place especially with the new layout of the control menus.

Sorry I thought you were still on the 4890, that's why I said the GTX750Ti.

If you're playing certain types of games, maybe like driving games as an example, then a better card might show some improvement.

If you're playing games like GTA V, Battlefield, etc, forget any GPU upgrade, as you'll be CPU bottlenecked before you're card bottlenecked in a lot of cases.

This is assuming you're currently on the HD7850. I think you have to just pony up and get a new mobo+cpu. A i3-4160 and H81 mobo is very cheap and would trash that old X4 in games. And the 7850 would still be fine for another while if you have to save then for a GPU.

Well then a GTX750 or 750Ti is the only card worth getting unless you're buying a new motherboard and processor because that X4 is a major bottleneck in a lot of games.
