im currently running an AGP 9800 XT graphics card and I am looking to upgrade my pc for high end gaming. I game at 1280 x 1024 but I am considering getting a 24" WS monitor. I was waiting for news of a new high end graphics card, nvidia 9800 but it seems there will be no new high end graphics card until next year (feb 2008 ish), so what would you recommend that I purchase?

I was looking at the this

and fitting this to it for o/c purposes

what would you recommend?

Generally speaking, it is the voltage that holds back the clocks on th the GTX's, not heat (from what i've read) but adding water to my card got me an extra 30mhz..

hmmz, i was just going my the comments left on the Thermalright HR-03-PLUS i was under the impression that all of the gtx cards were the same, just some clocked differently and with better coolers.

So you think its worth getting a gtx then and not waiting to see if a new high end card materilises in november, i dont really want to make the switch to pci express then find a new kick ass card comes out the following month

The card you posted would be great I've got a GTS 640meg and it runs everything at 1920x1200 I dont really bother with all the AA stuff yet. I agree with Stickroad the stock cooler do a much better job than some of the stock coolers I've encountered on ATi cards. These nvidia are pretty much silent, I remember when I first installed it I wasn't sure if it was broken or not as I couldn't hear it even with the case panels off.
