Hello,

Current build:

Gigabyte X99-SLI
Intel Core i7 5820K
16gb DDR 4
500gb SSD
1000w PSU

I'm looking for a GPU that will give me:

GSync
Good 4k performance

Monitor I have in mind is this one when released:

Although will have to wait a while to save up.

For graphics card, budget is around £500-600. What would be recommend?

I currently have an R9 280x which is being RMA'd as it's faulty.

I'm eying up the 980ti here:

Why would anyone go for the more expensive one? Are they built better/quieter or something?

Not necessarily, though it can be a premium brand / model over say a more run of the mill one. Usually, it will be higher clock speeds, maybe better warranty or a black-plate. Something of that nature.

Also is this a good option as well?

Bit concerned about fan noise on the other ones

I guess it depends on how sensitive to noise you are. I'm currently using a lower clocked GTX980Ti (KFA2) and I can't hear it. I wouldn't say I'm very sensitive to noise, but I do like a quiet card.

I can't comment much about the card you linked at the bottom of your post, as it's probably something that wouldn't appeal to me / take my interest. However, I would expect it to overclock reasonably well (always a lottery), and be quiet. Unless you're particularly sensitive to noise, I don't think you need to purchase a liquid cooled card - unless you want to for other reasons like overclocking / temps, of course.

The 980ti is the only one you can consider other than the Titan X. A 980 will struggle with 3440x1440 with some titles.

They look like amazing monitors although being Acer is a negative IMO. They do a free-sync version for around 200 quid less (last time I looked) so that and a Fury X which has similar performance at that res is another option where you save a nice chunk of money.
