i have 1.26 gig of ram but i have another gig on the way

and my processor is a 1.6ghz sempron overclocked to 1.96ghz

any advice would be welcome advice :)

Is there a way you can get a picture of your motherboard? Googling told me it's DFI, but there's no pictures or sites telling me the specs of it.

Also, what PSU do you have and what brand is it?

If you plan to upgrade, I would strongly suggest against the RAM upgrade, and instead save up for a CPU/RAM/Motherboard upgrade. What sort of bugdet do you have?

Think it's an n-force 3 board but i'm sure that pci-e was supported till n-force 4?

Edit.

Motherboard Properties
Motherboard ID 09/14/2004-nForce-CK8S-6A61CD49C-00
Motherboard Name DFI LANParty UT nF3 250Gb (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 3 DDR DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN)

It's an agp board.

If it's an AGP board... it's going to be hard to find a brand new AGP card. Looks like you have to find a second hand one.

If you're gaming this could cause problems as AGP cards are nothing compared to PCI-E cards. Plus that Sempron will bottleneck the GPU. I strongly recommend saving up for a CPU/RAM/Motherboard upgrade instead before the graphics card.

thanks for the replys, i dont mind a second hand graph card i have a terrible 1 installed atm cuz my old 1 exploaded im looking at sumthing just to put me on till
i upgrade later next year not looking at anything really expensive or amazing just sumthing decent to put me on

and when i do upgrade next year do ppl think i should deffo upgrade my mobo?
i was gunna try n get around that lol or could i just upgrade processor etc?

you could always buy a 4650 or 4670 from ocuk i had a pci-e 4650 once and it could game quite well on games like cod don't know how the agp versions perform though

What games are you intending to play? And what resolution are you intending to play at?

To be perfectly honest as you're still on AGP and the rest of your pc is somewhat lacking you can forget playing any of the latest and greatest graphically intensive games.

If however you want to waste more money on your system then I think an ATi 3850 is probably the best AGP solution you can get, but I'd seriously consider upgrading the rest of your pc as it's really really out of date!

Money spent on an AGP card for gaming nowadays is money down the drain imo.

im not intending to play many games i play football manager games from time to time i use my pc for networking watching films watching stream etc im going 2 be having 2 monitors coupled up after xmas and i just need summert half decent till after xmas

if i wanna play cod i got a 360 ;) not an avid pc gamer

Yes, you just look for AGP. The 4350 will perform a lot better compared to the 6200...
