HI,

So I've recently bought quite a few parts for my new pc. Will be running an i7 6700k. However I'm still not sure what graphics card to buy and this is effecting my monitor choice too.

I really want a 1440p 144hz monitor but I want a graphics card that will make the most of it. Budget wise in fairly flexible though obviously the cheaper the better. I've read a lot about the rx 480. However not sure this would give me the power I need. Would the 1070 suffice or is is best to up to the 1080? Also there is a lot of choice for these cards. I don't plan on overclocking it myself so best out of the box would be best for me.

Cheers

Im in the same boat as you, my space heater 290x is reaching supernova so looking to replace. My issues is my 144hz 1440p monitor is freesync and was wondering would it be worth getting the RX 480 just to enable freesync or buying a 1070. Lower fps = freesync smooth vs Higher cost but more frames

If the RX 480 when it comes out is faster than a 980 than go for it with a freesync monitor. If it isnt probably get a 980ti and a gysnc monitor or a 1070 and probably not a gsync monitor as it will cost bare more.
