I took snowdog's post to mean "too little, too late."

From there your post looked as if it was saying "it's out soon so stop moaning."

If I misunderstood then I apologise, but my point still stands. ;)

I don't care what it looked like to you! OK.
I believe people should say what they mean.
it sees like every post you read in plain English needs interpreting.
Dont start putting words into other peoples posts to back up your arguments. ;)

Jesus Christ calm down. I wasn't putting words into anyone's mouth, did I or did I not just say that I apologise if I misunderstood the posts? Get that stick out of your rectum, seriously, it sounds like it's starting to chafe. :p

LOL

Moan moan, argue argue, criticise A, criticise B etc. . .

ATI isnt perfect & Nvidia isnt for one reason or another. . .

Some people consider performance is more important compared to driver performance - visa versa.

Do I really really care whos best Nvidia? ATI for whatever reason? Nope. . .

All I want is a card thats fast & has great drivers. . . is it so much to ask for?

EverQuest, EverQuest II, Half Life 2/CS: Source, Vanguard - which card do you think runs those games perfectly? 8800XTX or an X1900 XTX?

Ahh yes performance over drivers, its a catch 22 situation.

It looks to me a lot of people want/expect the 2900xt to equal/beat the gtx at £100 less if it could beat/equal a gtx it would be up there with the gtx price wise,if ati were asking for 320+ then i would say it a bad card for the price but if they sell it around 220-230 then maybe it is a good card.
It is prices about the same as the gts640 because it about on par with the gts.
Xtx was ment to compete with the gtx but it late or what ever, the way people keep talking, you think no one buys any other card apart from the GTX because it the faestest well now the ultra out is everyone going to buy them and dump their GTX? i think not.
If you got a GTX/GTS good for you what good cards.
Nvidia can drop the ball aswell look at the 8600

Not sure if it is my gts320 that runs vanguard bad because of 320mb memory but it really don't matter what setting i have it get hit bad in towns but just got a 500mb hd so might be better.

Why does everybody think that ATI's drivers will improve so much? (general question not a dig)

The card should have been out ages ago so they have had similar time to work on it as Nvidia's.

im sick of saying that

You been living in a cave for the past year and a bit? ATi drivers have come on leaps and bounds and are now far better and far more frequent then their nV counterparts.

No, and I don't have an NV card, so I don't care whats happening with those. I am just after a decent set of drivers for my Ati card, but there aren't any ones available so I am still stuck with my Cat 6.12's :(

Is a shame about ATIs latest card if what they say is true. In fact its a shame about AMD and ATI, they need to catch up, Im glad I bought a 8800GTX at xmas now though. :)

If the HD2900XT is going to be around £230 then its going to be a winner because of the fact it appears to be slightly better than a GTS in things however all I have seen is 3DMark scores so far.

What exactly is wrong with the 7.X drivers we have had so far this year? I've seen nothing but performance increases from them and better game support on my x1900xt.

lol, I've been using drivers from March 2006 i.e Catalyst 6.3 drivers with no problems untill I bought Vanguard the AA/AF wasn't working properly, so I updated to Catalyst 7.4 i.e April 2007 & the game works PERFECT now I have also noticed & increase in FPS.

What card you using, out of interest? I have seen nobdoy with such massive problems that you appear to have.

I used to have an X850 XT in my work PC.. The drivers were always rubbish.. It was painfully difficult to setup Dual-view mode with huge footprint drivers..

There were always problems with 3D Apps, such as 3DsMax and Maya which is use a lot..

Where as my nvidia 6800 at home had none of the above problems.. So ATi in my book have always had driver problems.. Thats not to say they dont get fixed quick, but when they fix somthing they break somthing else..!!

Plus they need to work on there driver memory footprint a bit... BUT saying that im tempted toward the new x2900's range simply because i have long been a fan of AMD..

Especially if i get Vista any time soon.
