What happened to £150-£199 netbooks?

As title really - netbooks seem to be being pushed further and further into "small laptop" territory where manufacturers can make bigger margins I suppose. It's a shame really.

I recently got my Dell Inspiron mini 1012 for £199.

There are plenty around, just got to look in the right places

Am in the market for something on the budget end but with Ion and HDMI output.

Is there anything other than the HP Mini 311 that I should be looking at?

They were rubbish...

Company releases cheap tat for £150 and then release something better for £250. People buy £250 netbooks because they are far more useful, £150 netbooks are withdrawn...

I'd also say if you were gunna spend £200 on a netbook anyway, then finding an extra £30-£50 to ensure you get a good netbook isn't a lot more to spend in the grand scheme of things.

Selling my Lenovo S12 at the mo. Great netbook but haven't used it so for me it is just a waste as it sits on my desk doing nothint!

Manufacturers realised they could sell the same spec machines for another £50-100 more...so that's what they did.
