How come new 7800s are so experensive and hard to find, whereas the other 7 series cards are still plentiful?

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

I hear the 7900s have problems
LOL!locutus12 said:there good cards, the only problem is they are about as reliable as a water tight bulk head on the Titanic.
Either is a good option really and Nvidia are releasing the 7950 GT soon which will be the successor to the disasterous 7900 GT, so a 7600 GT would hold you nicely until then (and far beyond if you wanted to wait until the DirectX 10 tech has matured like the rest of us.)rangor gubbins said:so what are my options? Break with tradition and go all ATI. Or save a bucket of cash and get a 7600GT, while i wait for directX10 cards to come out.

The problems been sorted, definatly sorted in the EVGA ones![]()
The eVGA ones have had a slightly lower failure rate all along, around 2%, but they still have the same problems as the rest of those ticking time-bombs. The main problem with the eVGA ones is that for some reason, something like 20% of people who RMA an eVGA 7900 GT end up having to RMA twice or more.no_1_dave said:My 7900 GT's fine & so are most of them.
