What happened to all the flight sim games

I love when people chat ****. So where are all the flight sim games on console? Oh wait there aren't any because sims generally require silly massive computers to look and handle nicely with and reasonable FPS and consoles cant take the number of peripherals required to properly play a flight sim.

OP: Look at DCS (Digital Combat Simulator): AC10 and Black Shark, Take on Helicopters is just out, FSX is still going strong, IL2 is great too for some old school combat.

Yeah, there are no Flight Simulators on console, yeah they need good computers to handle nicely.

But how does that even remotely relate to my post talking ****?

Buy Arma II, increase view distance but decrease image quality settings like HDR & shadows, open the editor and create your own heli/jet strike missions. There are mods out there which increase the realism of the community built systems, such as the F-18 Super Hornet, or GLT Missile box that adds proper airframe weapons (durandals, cluster, etc.).
But as Zola says, the Thirdwire games such as Strike Fighters2:Europe are brilliant for semi realism combat flight sims. Checkout the terrain mods at combatace and their vast downloads of vintage jets, flying low-level in a community made Tornado brings tears to my eyes!!

(Falcon4 always made me feel like an inconsequential cog in a massive machine).

Not really, I found if you fly the right missions in the campaign it makes a big difference. The AI is poor at dealing with the DPRK air defences. Besides, you can adjust priorities for regions, target types etc so the engine generates missions more to your liking.
