what happened to my temps :( - solved

Hi,
Ive changed to i7 from phenom II

my temps on gpu on full load never went over 56 and now on i7 (which runs cooler than phenom) I get over 60-65....

why ???

only thing Ive swapped was fitting on cpu block, nothing else...
it runs cpu,gpu,rad...

any ideas ???

Stupid suggestion of your 2600k is pushing your 6950 further.
Are you noticing higher GPU usage/better frames?

Could just be the 2600k chucking more heat into the loop, but doesn't seem that likely.

Higher clocks if you've over clocked?

Did you clean the blocks and apply new thermal paste?
havent touched gpu block

hard to say if I get better frames...will check that later...but on slower cpu, gpu would be pushed more ?

nope, i7 seems to be half the warm comparing to phenom.,,,

maybe I do get better frames etc, but I remember stressing gpu only and even then Ive never hit 60degrees on it....

next thing to add :
I remember that air coming from fans was warm when PC was stressed, now it is quite cold/room temp...

if temps on gpu reaches 70, I think tubes should get quite war as well ? well, they are not...

Just touched my tubes and yes, they are pretty warm.

There is clearly something physics defying in your GPU :p

Well as long as it isn't melting, i wouldn't worry about it :)

heh

whats the max temp for 6950 ?

and I wont rest until I find why it is happening...

if amd was bottlenecking gpu, why it was using 99% of GPU in games ?

any idea where temp probe might be ?

and if gpu is reaching 65 degrees, that shoudl affect cpu tem as well...well..it doesnt...havent seen it going over 30...
