Not sure if I could base this on, but I'll post it here.

So im playing COD 2, then it freezes, as in fully froze while im playing on a map. So the my keyboard etc froze, I could still hear sound etc. Anyway I had to turn the computer off at the switch then back on.

So the computer boots up and im on my desktop, so I come here, and I was going to post and ask what could have caused it, upon doing this it freezes again and the internet isn't responding then my desktop isn't responding then the computer goes into a blue screen stating:

"A problem has been detected, Windows shut down to prevent damage to the computer"

"A process or thread crucial to the system has unexpectedly exited or been terminated"

Now I terminated nothing, I did not end the task while it wasn't responding.

So I turn off and on again, this time it goes past the boot screen and says that Windows/system32 is corrupted or deleted. The actual main Windows folder. So im wondering what the....?

So I boot into the recovery that my computer has and let it system restore but re-install the operating system clean but leave a folder with my previous stuff.

So everythings running fine yeah, but im wondering what caused this?

Cheers.
