What happens in this situation?

I have ordered 2 items from company 1. They were suppose to be coming next day delivery but 3 working days have passed and only one item has been received. I have contacted the delivery service who say that company 1 has only sent them 1 package to deliver.

I have also contacted company 1 but they say that the item has been sent to the delivery service?

Who is it left down to, to sort out where my item is as I really need it?

i would have thought its the company who you paid to, should sort out this mess. they cant just say "we have given this item to xyz delivery company" and leave it there.

company 1 has emailed back quickly and said they are looking into it. It still leaves me without an item i require quite urgently
 
I think you get the money back from the company for delivery, and then they go and chase it up with their delivery supplier.

just the money for delivery or for the item aswell?

Just the money for the delivery, assuming you get the item sometime soon. If it's lost in the post then thats a whole other matter.

But if you're just looking for the delivery fees back then they give you the difference compared to the standard delivery charge.
 
ive still heard nothing from the company. Surely shouldnt they do as other companies have done in the past and send out the same item via special delivery and get their lost item back? after all its not my fault if either the company have lost it or it didnt get to the delivery supplier (which is what the delivery supplier is saying)
