What happens when...(iPod/iTunes).

Hi.
I was wondering, what happens why i fill my iPod? How does iTunes decide what to sync and not what to sync?
I asked because i have less than 3Gb left on my 60Gb iPod and was wondering how iTunes would take it.

Itunes will make a playlist called 'Luke's iPod Selection'. You just stick what you want on your iPod in there and itunes will copy it across when you sync.

So only the stuff in that playlist will goto the iPod? Nothing else?
