What happent to Matilda?

I am huge fan of Leon: The Professional and there was rumour that Luc Bensson would direct Matilda which would have Natalie Portman play the role of a young hitman.
I just loved how Bensson portayed Leon and i hope that Luc actually goes ahead with this.
