I have a Shuttle, which I have been using with no problem for 20 months or so.

In the last 6 months, it has been dying on me whilst playing games - the sound would keep running but there would just be a black screen... I sorted this out by removing the top part of the case and aiming my desk fan at the Shuttle.

Moved house with it yesterday, plugged it all in and.... no display. At all. System still runs fine because I can hear the HDDs whirring and clunking as it loads Windows, then it goes quiet once it gets to the login screen.

Tried it with nothing plugged into the USB ports, tried each stick of RAM, tried it with no HDDs, tried the other monitor port on the graphics card, nothing.

Took the graphics card out and cleaned the dust out (it was fairly dusty but not atrocious), still nothing.

Guess the graphics card has gone then?

If so, can anyone recommend me a graphics card, single or dual slot, that has good cooling and would be OK in my Shuttle. Needs to be under 10 inches long.

Cheers!

Good point.

Lets say 250 squids max, though I'd rather spend less.

I had a Sapphire 1950xt 512Mb before (does 1950 sound the right number?) and would like at least the same performance.

Yeah, saw that. I will measure my Shuttle.

Will it be powerful enough? It's a SD37P2.... or SN37P2. One or the other.

They both have the same 400w supply, but shuttle did certify it for crossfire back in 2006 when it came out, and I think ATI cards at that point were pretty brutish on the power usage. Right back to the days of my old SN45G shuttle PSUs were quite good, so I think you'll be alright.

The 200W PSU in my shuttle used to run a t'bred 1700 @ 2.6Ghz, and a 9800 pro with no problems
