Sad faced right now lol.

I was messing with Easytune 6 and went to the quick boost section. At first, i selected level 2 and it asked me if i'd like to restart now or later. Chose later.pc booted back fine.

Went in again and chose level 3 for 4.8ghz and for some strange reasons i chose later and the whole thing just shutdown on me and started an endless restart loop that lasts 3 seconds..can't even get to bios.

I feel so gobsmacked i have no idea if i just toasted the CPU or mobo...

i5 2550k @ 3.60ghz

So..am i in an unrecoverable situation or will i need to replace one or both of these components?...

Just done, no joy :(..

Did a strip as well and put in/out jumper still no luck...

Goddam trigger fingers of mine.they deserved to be chopped off.

ive had this happen to me i was going to go for the battery but it was behind the gpu so i thought id try unplug it for 5mins and that worked

so just try that 1st, unplug it for 5mins and make a drink^^

Comes on for max 3 secs the cpu phase led all turn on, then everything go off then continues looping...

Will remove battery for 5.

Can you start in safe mode?

Oops just noticed that it only boots for 3 sec. Highly unlikely that something has gone wrong wiyh your hardware. Does your mobo have a dual bios option?

Yeah don't worry, I had same problem years ago using asus ai program on my p4 lol. Have to leave battery out long enough for it to clear all bios settings. Remember if you have boards long enough the battery will go flat haha. Happened to me on my current board, it is ancient. :)

wow ok you should be good
get realtemp if you havent already
in your bios you can save profiles, so save your current before you start
id try on stock volts to start too, just clock ratio
or try 40x at 1.3v

i dont have your chip but basicly u just want to work it up slowly, if it doesnt boot or its unstable its usually asking for volts

get a snack and spend some time in ur bios :p
theres some bits in that guide about what to disable that looks worth reading
