What have I changed? PC switches off rather than going to sleep?

Makes me sound like a total n00b lol..

I have my win10 machine set to sleep after a period of inactivity, it was fine until very recently.. woke up on key press/mouse move etc as you'd expect.

I think after a recent windows update or perhaps me messing with wake on lan settings (but importantly not changing the power/sleep settings) now it goes to sleep but when I go to wake it it takes ages and comes on via the BIOS splash screen etc, often comes back with the same windows open though, occasionally without and basically like a fresh start.

In the meantime all the lighting options I leave on when it goes to sleep stay on so you can't tell it's doing anything differently.

I'm lost lol, I can't think what I've done.. I've checked things like hybrid sleep etc not that I know what they do.

It's almost like it's going into a deep sleep which I'm sure someone will be able to tell me is something really straightforward?

Thanks!

It sounds like... maybe your computer is waking via BIOS, rather than windows controlling things? Hibernate vs Sleep even?

If I sound dubious about my own explanation it’s because I’ve not messed with those settings in a very long time.

Ah, handy thanks..

The reason I mentioned the update was that recently it wasn't going to sleep at all and I checked via "powercfg -requests" what was stopping it and it was windows update..

But starting from scratch sounds sensible thanks.

I had that same issue.

you need to set a command to override the munouser process. Google “how to stop munouser from stopping sleep”. There should be a page with a 10 step plan and within it there is a step to override the process.

anyway if you have restored power config you should be back to normal.

Well, I did. And nothing changed  fished around in the bios too... very odd.

I've turned on ultra fast boot so there's basically no wait now but I can't think what's changed. Very odd.
