Hi Everyone, I am using an Akasa Venom on an i3. Couple of questions please, I have replaced the TIM that I originally used ( supplied with the cooler ) for Arctic freezer 5 and my temperatures are several degrees higher than with the original. I have downloaded the instructions from Arctic for fitting to an i3 and have followed them to the letter, I have tried twice with the same results. I am tightening the fixing nuts so that the cooler feels firm on the CPU without any movement, should I tighten them more? how tight should they be .
I am going to try one more time today when I get home from work, so any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, how much TIM did you use, did you clean both the heatsink and the CPU face's before you applied it, did you mean Artic Silver 5. Put about a small pea sized spot of TIM in the centre of the CPU, when you screw the heatsink down go corner to corner about 360 degree's at a time. The TIM will spread out as the heatsink applie's pressure, AS5 take's about 200hrs to cure, your temp's should drop then and make sure the Venon is facing the exshaust fan.

PS - I'v read some where that if there are any Gaps in the heatsink face where the pipe's are is to fill them in before installation, as well as a small pea sized blob on the CPU.
