Ok so i currently have a Gigabyte Aurora (the first one) and it has served me well. From the start i had the feeling though that i may find it a little too restrictive further down the line.

There isn't very much space for cable routing as it's not long enough. Where the motherboard ends is pretty much where the 5.25" drive bays begin. This makes it extremely hard to keep tidy with nowhere to hide the cables.

Added to this, i bought a GTX which barely fits in the case, there's about a 2mm gap between it and the hdd bays. This has also meant that there is not enough space to put on a custom gfx cooler (the AC Accelero Xtreme). In this hot weather my GTX is now sitting at 60 idle. I don't even want to imagine what it gets to under load. This is all going on even though i have 2 Panaflo H1 120mm fans at the back (totalling 206cfm) and another blowing air across the GTX, and 2 Panaflo 120mm intakes. So cooling is a problem.

A couple of days ago i decided it's time for a new one. I really like the look of the Lian Li V1010b as it's pretty much the same height as mine, just it's longer, making it much easier to keep tidy. I would also be able to fit the AC cooler with ease. Then i saw the V2010b and i managed to talk myself into it as i may well go for water cooling in the future. I just keep thinking though that i've spent way too much money on what is essentially a box for my gear. When i got my Aurora i had to think really hard about spending £80 on a case. And now i've just gone and spent £170 on this :(

I doubt i will regret it once i get it, but right now my wallet is feeling rather empty having just spent a lot of my overtime hours on this. Anyone want to make me feel better? :p

i bought a CM110 (£250) when i was 16/17, scariest thing i've ever bought -I used to get £35 per shift, washing up in a restaurant back then

still using it now , 8 years on!

I bought a Silverstone TJ07 recently, £200+.

Single most expensive part i have ever bought , but worth every penny.

You are not likely to upgrade the case you bought for a good few years , so deffo a good buy.

It should be arriving tomorrow, get off work at 4.30 so will be working on it all evening. I need to sort out some cable ties/heatshrink to do a proper job of cable tidying.

The hardest part is going to be justifying the buy to my parents :p

Well i got it all sorted a couple of days ago. I had to put it together in the evenings after work so didn't have much time to sort it out as i had other stuff going on.

It's definately the easiest case i have had to install hardware in. Before i used to dread having to change things round but it looks like it will be so simple in this with all the space. Cable tidying is also a dream. Loads of places to route the cables and keep them out of sight, even though i don't have a window.

I still have to get a Lian Li 5.25" - 3.5" bay converter for my fan controller and 2 aluminium drive bezels for my dvd drives to make them fit in with the case front. The only problem is i can't find anywhere with the black ones in stock so that's going to have to wait. I'm having a similar problem finding anywhere that stocks the side window panel for this case, probably because it's quite new still. Guess i'll just have to wait for that. My last bit on things to get is some heatshrink to finish up the cable tidying nicely.

The vertical bar in this case that holds the extra fan in place is interfering with the fan on my scythe ninja. I plan on cutting a way a bit of this to solve this problem and get some air over my ram. I've also ordered the new gtx cooler that i'd been putting off getting and am also planning on getting the pci exhaust fan bracket to aid in the gfx cooling.

Still some bits to go yet then but i'm getting there. Like you all said though, i don't regret it now i have it :p

Sorry for all the blur, hard to get a decent photo out of my k810i. Will get some decent photos when i get all the little bits and bobs done.
