This weekend I'll be mostly celebrating my son's first birthday with my lovely girlfriend and her family :D. We're spending the weekend with family and then have Monday to ourselves and will be taking the little guy somewhere nice.

It got me asking where the last year has gone? It feels like only yesterday that he was born and in that time I feel like I've accomplished a lot and really feel like I'm growing up and moving forward in life.

I've had promotions at work and been nominated for various awards, Saved up a nice sum of money, Become more confident, Got myself a gym membership and got myself in shape . Overall, I think I'd say I'm a happier/healthier bloke than I was 365 days ago and no one can grumble at that now eh!

What about you?

Moved to Scotland /
Lived on an inflatable bed in someone's livingroom for 6 months with little money -

On reflection it's been a bumpy road and the move is starting to pay off.

Went to Australia and met family I had never met before and some I never knew existed. Also went to my first GP whilst there! :D
Got into mountainbiking, really enjoying it, hopefully will continue to do more and keep enjoying it.

Apart from that not an awful lot :( Been forever trying to save up in the hope of eventually having enough for a decent deposit, but often feel like I'm not getting anywhere! :(

i've had an incredibaly busy and demanding year.
much of it spent away from friends and family

  • completed course after course after course.
  • numerous exercises in preperation for deployment to afghanistan
  • completed PNCO course
  • Promoted to substansive rank of LBdr
  • Sorted my finances out after a couple of difficult years(my fault)
  • deployed to afghanistan
On return from afghanistan, before the year ends i also intend to purchase a new car and pass my bike tests and spend a WHOLE lot more time with family and friends, when you spend so long away from them it really brings home to you how important they are, i must say i've been guilty of taking them for granted in the past.

In the past 365days I've:

Gained an MA
Gained a GDL
Been to Italy, Egypt, Canada and Belgium
Sampled some of man's finest wines
Dined at some of the best restaurants in town
Completely quit a certain bad habit

All in all pretty good I think

In the pat year I have:
Got my drivers licence,
Moved back home,
Went on holiday to New Zealand,
Got a fantastic job in IT,
Broke up with my wonderful girlfriend,
Booked my one way ticket to New Zealand to live,
Got back together with my girlfriend.

Good year so far I recon
