Hi there,

Im after some new headphones once again.

My only previous 'real' headphones were some Sennheiser HD280 Pro's and Sennheiser HD 205's.

Now the 280's were superb. After a little check, they are around £70ish mark. Now is there any decent sets out there around this price bracket or do I just buy another set of 280's :D

Thanks...

Nope dont own the HD280's anymore. Had to be sold at the time :(

They will be used at home plugged into an amp (when it arrives), HIFI and my laptop.

Closed and Open, whats the sound difference between them?

I can recommend the HD595's excellent quality if you are after wired phones and can be picked up for around £80-90.

I'd strongly recommend that you consider a set of Sennheiser HD580 'phones. These can be bought for £79.45. I owned a set of these for four years and I paid £140.00 for them. Many people prefer the HD 580s to Sennheiser's top line, the HD650s. At this price the HD580s are an absolute bargain.:cool::cool::cool:

I to have a pair of Hd580 precision's and they are excellent, but no longer available and the HD595's I got to replace them are as good if not slightly more open.

Closed 'phones generally isolate a lot better than open ones, sound won't leak out as much and outside noise won't get in.

However, a lot of people prefer the sound of open 'phones, but they won't be so practical in noisy environments or ones which you could potentially disturb people if they leak too much sound.

I think you'll find some Sennheiser HD580s for sale for £79.45 available from a German audiophile etailer. Superb value.

Ended up going for some 'open' ones.

HD555's for £45 inc delivery which does'nt seem to be bad does it :D

Well the sound source isn't going to be great... A Dell lappy but everything counts right :p

Will not really to test them out untill I get the new TV and AMP setup.
