What Headset do you use and why?

Razer Carcharias, replacement for RMA of a Razer Piranha so not bad at all :p Mic died on the Piranha after about 18 months which was annoying.

Headphones: Beyer Dynamic DT770 .
Microphone: Mini Speedlink clip-on thing.
Both plugged into a Creative Sound Blaster X-FI card.

got the same constellation. very comfy.

i used in the past always cheap headsets but some proper quality earphones and an external mic is the way to go.

Roccat Kave 5.1's

Wanted a 5.1 set for gaming, with a decent mic. These seemed to tick all the boxes in the reviews I read, and I'm happy enough with them.

Only negative is that they feel pretty heavy compared to the Fatality set I used to have, so for a long session they can get a bit uncomfortable.

Creative Fatal1ty - do the job, nothing special. Have one of the top end Creative soundcards, can't remember which but use an external Alesis IO2 with mixing desk for speakers.

Have an old Sennheiser pair when listening to music.

Citronic HP500 Pro with a £1 desktop mic because it's cheap, durable and the sound quality of headphones double the price!

Microsoft LX3000

USB

On board sound.

Reason? £7 for a decently made headset was well worth it for later gaming where speakers would be too loud.

Siberia V2 - top quality in every aspect.

What amazes me the most is the sound quality when listening to music, I have a pair of Sennheiser 280 (for £90) and somehow the cheaper Siberia V2 sounds heaps better with better clarity, especially the bass.

Microphone is also a huge improvement over my Creative fatality headset.

Corsair HS1A and Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty Champion Series

Found the HS1A to be much better than the Creative Fatality I had before. Though in the first week or so the HS1A really clamped on my head like a vice, nice and comfortable now.

The Creative card is good too, mainly for the front panel. I can just plug in headphones and it automatically mutes the speakers and switches the sound settings to headphones.

Logitech G930 - Wireless surround loveliness
On-board sound - Not bought a separate card, although had X-Fi Audigy a long while ago, but with Crossfire'd 5850's it's a bit cramped in there with my current mobo.

Just got a pair of Corsair gaming audio series HS1A to go with my Xonar STX. Quite surprised how good BFBC2 sounds in surround, has given me another dimension to gaming now. :D

Roll on BF3!

Bose QuietComfort 15
Great sound quality, Noise cancelling that works, comfortable 8 hrs +, hardwearing. Only downside is they are expensive but well worth the money.

I have medusa 5.1's, a creative fatality and sen 555's.

For gaming the medusa and creative are excellent.
I am actually gonna go drag the medusa's out of the cupboard and try them again, the senn 555's just don't cut it for gaming, excellent for everything else.

I used to have Medusa 5.1 (with its own amp), but I dropped them once too many times and they broke.

Now have Plantronics Gamecom 777 which are very comfy, decent quality sound, mic is clear also, and the Dolby 7.1 seems to work well.
They're USB and need no drivers/software to run, just plug & go :)
Got mine for £40 from the "big river" ;)

Creative Fatal1ty HS-1000 just because they where one of the best around the time of purchase, with 7.1ch USB etc...

Goldring DR150 headphones, plugged into an x-fi music card. For a mic I just use the one thats built into my crappy webcam - it does the job!

Headphones: Roccat Kave 5.1 for gaming and movies.

Headphones for music&DJing: Sennheiser HD 25-C II

Sound Card: Asus Xonar D2 Ultra Fidelity With Complete Dolby DTS

:)
