what heat resistant material to use?

I am tiling the top of my bio ethanol fireplace, but would like to put some material above this as my Tv will be on the wall.

Bio ethanol fires need no chimney by the way. Would tin foil work?

Heat resistant and tin foil?

When that gets hot you will be able to cook on it.

There must be a proper solution for this as there are hundreds of pictures of this sort of install on the web but I have no idea how they do it.

would never be tempted to do this - putting a tv over a fire will definitely get hotter in that location that if it was elsewhere in a room and it will also be forced to sit high up on a wall which to me is a totally wrong place to have your tv!

I've always wondered this as it just doesn't seem right to me to put your TV on the wall over the fireplace....plus it ends up too high imo
