What I want to do, and how can I do it?

I'm pretty new to this networking thing everyone seems to have going on at the moment, but I've been wondering quite a while about something I want to do.

I basically want to use my computer as a home server (Family Videos, Photos, Music ect.) So that everything can be accessed with a simple click from anyones computer.

In our house we have more computers than people so there is a demand for this.

Downstairs we also have a Samsung TV with the dongle thingy on the side so it can connect to Computers and Hubs (although we don't really use it at the moment!)

I would also like to be able to play Blu-Ray from my Computer upstairs to the TV Downstairs.

Can anyone help me?

The easy way of doing this I think would to use file sharing. If you are all connected to the network and on the same work group with file sharing enabled, you should be able to access your files.
