AS titled really.

My bro wants to get a base spec macbook unibody from any store in london really. I know theres plenty all around.

It comes to around <£800ish and you get 3 year warranty as well yeah?

Will a university ID card suffice?

Does it matter who pays for thing? I.e. my parents ?

Yes, it comes with a 3 year hardware warranty, but not the phone support that you get by buying the extra AppleCare.

Anybody should be able to pay. University ID, NUS or a letter from a tutor or such should be all that's required.

Ok thanks for that gumbald.

Uni ID and NUS is there for sure. Do you know if theres any hassle or is it straightforward?

Also the shops do keep the laptops in stock yeah?

Give them a ring and check before you set off, they should have them in stock though. Shouldn't be a hassle getting the discount if you can just produce your cards.

i got my MBP with my other half, and she just flashed her student id card and i got the discount despite paying for it with my card, no questions asked.

Anyone can buy on your behalf, once the ID is shown.
