What is 3 like as a Network ?

If you have good signal its solid, I was with Three from 2011-2013 and it steadily declined around London to the point that going out meant I would be without signal most of the time. Any bar/restaurant/big building meant no signal, they have every limited 2g from orange to fall back on and its just meh.

The days I had good signal it was awesome, super fast internet everywhere, its unlimited so you never have to worry. I understand that they have tethering caps now which sucks thou.

As a network, I think they're fantastic. Indoor signal isn't as strong as it could be, however as the network itself is great you don't really notice, and in the areas you get no signal you often get little usable signal on other networks (ie. it doesn't make a difference). I get strong 3G signal in areas where others often don't though, so that more than makes up for it...

Customer service, mixed. For me they've actually been very good all along, bit pushy at times but not bad. For others, it seems to be love-hate.

EE and Three's 3G coverage will be indentical by the end of this year, due to legacy Orange sites being added to MBNL, so Three will also benefit.

4G will also be similar, eventually. But right now, EE are ridiculously far ahead

The only difference in terms of coverage (essentially, but read what I posted above) is that you get a 2G backup on EE, but not on Three.

Three is much better value for money.

That's a good point actually.

The One Plan SIM-only still has unlimited tethering, so if you want that, buy it now. It will be removed very soon.

price wise for me o2 would be by far the best contract price, looking for the z2 i have actually found 3 to be the most expensive for a usable contract

im pretty unfortunate that i just cannot be on o2 or vodafone as the coverage is just abysmal when it comes to 3/4G
vodafone is generally terrible on all signal IMO

im actually not to fussed about CS in mobile phones as network coverage then price are more important

i wouldnt pick vodafone even if it was free. to pick o2 it would have to be 1/2 price of EE/3

Under absolutely no circumstances ever will O2 be the best network to be on. Ever.

3 used to be amazing for me but since they have rolled out 4g in Newcastle I've been having quite a few issues with my phone not having a connection. I live and work in the city centre and what I've been finding is the 4g signal isn't strong enough to hold so it reverts back to 3g but it'll then get enough of a 4g to go back so my phone is just constantly bouncing back and forth between the two. I'm hoping it's just teething issues as the past week it seems to be reaching a greater area so not happening as much as it was. Besides that though they have been a pretty decent network.

I'm heading to Three at the end of the month-Orange's bills are ridiculously high. The £12.90 deal with unlimited data will tide me over until the iPhone 6 comes out in September.

Are there any members here from Essex that can give examples of how good the 4G is?

My only concern is 3 any good?

Three have been good for the past year that i've had them. Used what data i've fancied, rarely lost their HSPDA signal and have started picking up their 4G, never dropped a call, etc..

But, that's all dependant on area coverage though. :)
