I got a AMD card and was testing out playtv but it can only record for 10 minutes at a time?

Anything that is good for recording a hour or so?

Thanks for any help.

Raptr was fine for AMD cards when I owned one, OBS studio is arguably fiddly but reasonably good and you can split audio channels etc with some tinkering. Not as straight forward as Raptr etc to setup.

DxTory is the best I've used. Very good quality and barely affects performance, and can record on multiple audio channels. Not the easiest to setup but worth it.

i prefer fraps over everything but file sizes are big especially at high res settings.

shadowplay is free decent on nvidia not as good quality wise as fraps.
obs is good and free follow guide by jack frags may help.

record to different drive than the one you playing the games on.

Relive (part of amd drivers) seemed to work ok for me the other day, But the file sizes are insane.

I used to use PlayTV & it definitely could record for more than 10mins. However, AMD replaced it with Relive which also seems to work fine for my needs (I'm not doing anything remotely professional or anything). Perhaps OP needs to update their drivers?

Plays.tv is ok i record upto 1 hours gameplay at a time and is around 10gb in file size, the other handy bit about it, is that you can edited it and save the bits you want then delete the rest of the file.

What options are there or are you limited to using something like AVI?

Possibly update their drivers or download relive from the AMD site
