What is a good new game which... Is fun to play, which is similar to Settlers/Age of Empires, where you can build your own town/city. I am trying to find a good game for me to play and enjoy which is similar to those two games. :)

Aye it has multiplayer, can't say I've tried it though... I'd imagine a MP game would last a very long time. Does have single player though, campaign and stuff :)
 
5ub you need Anno 1404 Gold, similar setting to settlers/aoe ie oldern times, absolute timesink of a game that will keep you occupied for ages.

Also I said Gold because you get the expansion pack Venice which has multiplayer.

Yes 2070 has just come out but it doesnt have the character of this game, its also still a stunning and gorgeous game to behold.

Only problem is its not available on steam anymore, greenmangaming sells it, it doesn't activate on steam though.
 
It has to be anno1404 for single player, Have you tried AOE online though? It's online only and "freemium" so if you want to get really into it you will have to pay a bit but you can play a few hours of the game for free to get a feel for it

I enjoyed the Anno 2070 demo and I'm not usually a massive fan of strategy games (Rise of Nations and Homeworld being the exceptions). Worth a go.
