Hi I have the Scythe Ninja plus (with fan) on my fx60 but my idle temp, just in windows surfing the net and downloading a few things, is about 46C, that seems quite high to me?

Hi,

it seems the dual-cores are putting out a lot more heat than regular single-cores, seems to make sense I guess!

Would be nice to have some cooling results from an FX60 + Scythe Ninja :)

That does seem high. I don't see why it would run hotter than any other AMD processor on the market so it seems as though you may need to reseat the heatsink.

Are you using thermal paste? If so then are you using too much? Just some things for you to consider.

It is high. Are you sure the HSF is seated correctly? Have you looked to see if the fan is spinning while the pc is running? Where are you reading your temps from?

Ive never put a heatsink in myself, im using arctic silver paste, i may have used too much, im reading the temp from the ASUS AI booster. I will try wiping the stuff off and trying again, how much should i put on?

Try reading the temp from the BIOS. No point ****** around if all that's wrong is the way the software is reading the temp.

No swearing. Read the FAQs. Have a holiday on me.

I have tried applying less arctic silver, and reseating the ninja, but i still get around 45C idling? *** is wrong? All the fans are going. I dont know what to do?
