Is 4.2ghz at 1.125v good for a 4690k?

What is a good clock at low voltage?

4.6 i would say is an average without going to the top end of the voltage range. However depends on your chip. Whats the reason for wanting to run at very low volts ?

Because when avx instructions are used on haswell it adds either 0.1v or 0.2v (not sure which)... So for example if it was at 1.25v... when avx instructions are used it will go up to 1.35 or 1.45 which is too high. Don't want to reduce life of chip or damage it because I don't know when I will be upgrading it, could be 3-5 years from now depending what comes out etc.

Could set it to manual voltage but I want it to have the power saving features and not sure how to set them up other than using adaptive mode, manual mode overides it and stays at same voltage, I think I could change the cstates etc. but on this new motherboard (z97-a) the bios is very complicated compared to my old Q6700 and p5b deluxe.

I put it at 4.1ghz (4 cores) ATM at 1.09v which seems pretty good for stock volts..

What voltages are we talking about here? Problem is with the AVX thing I don't want to set it to anything which could overvolt with AVX and possibly damage chip etc. Probably 1.15v would be max I would use because that would be 1.25 or 1.35v when it overvolts itself.
 
I have yet to kill a chip, i beat the cr@p out of my old 2500k in terms of volts and i always find i get bored / upgrade before i burn the chip out (never burnt one yet) maybe im lucky but i dont know many who have actually killed a chip.
 
I agree that cpu are hard to damage but I want to know what the amount it adds with AVX instructions is so I can set a voltage with adaptive and know that it will only go xx higher than that... Anyone know if it is 0.1v or 0.2v?
